Greetings!
Karen and I are excited to be in ministry with the greater Kent community, and look forward to greeting you in person soon.
Ministry is a second career for me. I left employment as a supervisor for the City of Tacoma Conservation Department in 1995 to pursue a Master of Divinity Degree at Saint Paul School of Theology. I began serving this Conference in 1998 as an Associate Pastor for Mason UMC in Tacoma. I was then blessed to be appointed as Lead Pastor for the Federal Way UMC in 2005, and now have been given the wonderful opportunity to be your pastor.
Karen is employed by the City of Tacoma as a Sr. Human Resources Analyst in the Human Resources Department. She enjoys the mixture of personal interaction and research opportunities that her job entails. Karen is also one of the founding members of the Northwest Repertory Singers and loves singing.
We have been married for 32 years and have three grown children. Our oldest, Kristen, is out on her own and works for Expeditors in Des Moines. Our son, Jon, is pursuing a Psychology degree at the U of W, Tacoma and works part-time as a custodian. Our youngest, Lauren, graduated last year from Central and now works full-time for Apple at Southcenter. We also have a dog, Suzy, who is a Corgi-Cocker mix and probably the greatest dog in the world!
As we begin our shared ministry together, I look forward to what God has in store for us.
