KUMC Kids In Worship
Children's Worship Experiences
- Acolytes: Children 4th grade and older may become acolytes. Acolytes perform a very special service in our church, bringing the light of Christ into the sanctuary at the beginning of the worship service and taking the light of Christ into the world at service's end. Acolytes assist the pastor with special events such as baptism, communion, Christmas, Tenebrae and others throughout the year. Acolytes are trained and consecrated before the congregation in the fall each year, but training is available on request throughout the year to newcomers.
- Interpretive Dance: 2nd
grade and older participate in services throughout the year.
- Children's Choir: Kindergarten
and older rehearse on Sunday mornings from 10:30am-11:00am and sing once a
month in the worship services.
- Children's Bell Choir: 2nd
grade and older rehearse once a week and play in services throughout the
year.
- Live Donkey & Palm Parade on Palm Sunday:
3 year olds through 6th grade, both worship
services.
- Sunday School Celebration Sunday:
3 year-olds through 6th grade celebrate what they've learned
during the year with the congregation during worship on the last Sunday of
the regular Sunday school year.
- Children of all ages are welcome in all worship services
throughout the year.
